Raj bez prometa - Paradise without the traffic

Za predstavljanje prvog otoka za odmor bila je jako teška odluka. Naravno da ću Vas upoznat sa svim biserima koje treba obići u Hrvatskoj.
Prvi otok koji preporučam je za mlade.
To je otok Silba.
Silba je otok u Jadranskom moru, na hrvatskom dijelu Jadrana. Nalazi se zapadno od Zadra i naziva se stoga još "vratima Dalmacije". Pruža se u pravcu sjever-sjeverozapad - jug-jugoistok. Na najužem dijelu otoka, negdje na polovici je širok samo 700 m. Ima oblik bata, kojem je šira strana na sjeveru. Od naselja, na otoku se nalazi mjesto Silba.
Otok okružuju Silbanski kanal (zapad) i Olibski kanal (istok). Susjedni otoci su Premuda (jugozapadno) i Olib (istok) te Premuda i otočić Greben.

Ime je dobio po rimskom nazivu šume - Silva, budući da je Silba drugi najšumoviti otok u Hrvatskoj.

Povijest
Naseljen je još u ilirsko doba. Postoje tragovi iz rimskog doba, kao što su nalazi novca, brodoloma i sarkofaga. Naseljen od strane Hrvata u 8. stoljeću. Također se Silba spominje od strane Konstantina Porifirogeneta. U 19. stoljeću je pod austrijskom upravom.

Silba je svaki dan povezana brzobrodskom i trajektnom vezom sa Zadar.
Nekoliko puta tjedno moguće je doći i sa Velog Lošnja.

Silba every day is associated fast boat and ferry to Zadar.
Several times a week can be reached with Velo Lošnja.
